The Aquasana Rhino® Water Softener Alternative and 1,000,000 Gallon Whole House Filter System provides long-lasting, high-performance water filtration throughout your entire home.
The Aquasana EQ-1000-AST includes our Salt-Free Water Conditioner which naturally and safely reduces scale buildup on internal pipes and plumbing without the use of salt or chemicals.
Unlike other whole house filters that require messy, complicated replacement tanks, Aquasana Rhinos are intelligently engineered for quick, easy tank replacements. Use only genuine Aquasana replacements with your Aquasana system. Untested replacements are not certified for performance capacity or contaminant removal. This system will NOT reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS.)
This system is independently tested to NSF Standard 42 for the removal of up to 97% of chlorine.
System includes filter tank, conditioner tank, 20″ pre-filter, post-filter, brass fittings for 1” or 3/4” pipes, bend supports, and shut-off valves. This product may arrive separately in multiple packages.

Love the systemWe ordered the system to improve our water quality. We also ordered without having a commitment from a plumber to install the system. We struggled to find an installer and eventually decided to complete the installation ourselves. Instructions were clear and a couple of YouTube later we started the installation. Two weekends later, all done and thrilled with the water quality.
We added a water meter to track usage and segregated outdoor faucets and irrigation feeds from the filtered system.

Clean water in PhoenixClean water, clean sinks and showers, cleaner laundry and for the car enthusiast spot free washing. I am a 15 year plumber so I was able to install myself with very little difficulty, actually is you are handy at all most anyone could install one. Having a newer home with PEX piping I basically spliced the unit into my main water line. I did add a spigot after the final filter to assist in draining and also running a hose to wash my cars. I’ve had the unit installed for about 3 weeks now and can see the difference in my showers, my dishes are cleaner and for my wife her skin is not as dry after showers. The maintenance for the unit was also one of the major selling points. The filters will be easy to change and install kit comes with quality components, just a PEX tool, PEX and 2×4 to complete the install. I purchased online and from that came a call from Aquasana to confirm the correct system which was an added bonus they actually do care about what they sell, not just a thank you and take your money. Well done.

Good SystemWe have had the system installed now for just over a month. There was an immediate difference in the taste of the water which was the primary motivator for this system. Additionally, the simplysoft system does help reduce the amount of scale buildup we see in our showers without the water feeling like a traditional softener system. Only complaint I have is that there is a noticeable difference in water flow with this system installed; most noticeable when filling the bathtub or when using more that one appliance/faucet.

Initial impression of the whole house filterThe water is clear, clean and nice to shower with. The installation kit needs some enhancements. The plumber had to return 3 times to fix filter leaks and replace plastic bushings to copper bushings. Maybe include a leak proof suggestion to the plumber during installation. Concerned that I may need to have plumber replace filters due to the easy leaking??

Water is great, installation was not as greatThe filtration system is working as advertised, with good clean tasting water and hopefully no more build-up or sediment. Installation was not great, first the directions are a bit vague but also it is plumbing so it is fairly straightforward. The problem I ran into though is the pro install kit wasn’t fitted properly for the system I purchased (Max flow Rhino, 1,000,000 gallon). The fittings between the main filter and softener was not long enough to allow for the canisters to have even a small gap between them (one of them would have to lean). This required me to make another trip to the hardware store to purchase the proper length pipe so that the canisters could be separated and rest properly on the floor. Aside from chasing leaks for several hours after installation, the job was done. I recommend more detailed instructions and proper length fittings to be considered a “pro install” kit.

Assembly Instructions/Pro kitI recently installed the system and got the pro installation kit. The plastic pieces connecting into the pre and post filter didn’t make a great seal, even with tape. This resulted in tightening them to the point they cracked, as they are fragile. The size of them made getting replacements difficult. Additionally, the instructions had a lot to be desired. They were very minimal and also had conflicting information with the sites YouTube video instructions. They recommend professional installation but it really could be made more easy for anyone to do it with better instructions and hardware.
Post installation, it’s noticeable that there isn’t a smell or taste of chlorine in the water. Now it’s time to remove the old hard water scaling from the fixtures.
