(10 customer reviews)

$1,719.00

The Rhino® Whole House Water Filter and Salt-Free Water Conditioner System provide long-lasting, high-performance water filtration for great-tasting, healthy water throughout your entire home. This system is independently tested to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 to remove up to 97% of chlorine and the Rhino® tank is WQA certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN Standard 61.

The Aquasana Rhino’s unique upflow, dual tank design increases water contact time with contaminant-grabbing media and prevents clogging or media channeling. This Rhino’s newly improved divider valve enables a fast and reliable flow rate with no noticeable change in water pressure.

The salt-free conditioner features Scale Control Media (SCM) technology that uses your home’s water flow to effectively inhibit scale buildup by transforming dissolved hard minerals into inactive microscopic crystal particles that are passed through your water and down the drain.

This system comes with an assembly kit to make installation more efficient and to save you money. It now has everything you need to install on 3/4″ or 1″ main water lines, including high-quality Schedule 80 PVC components, an integrated drain valve for easy flushing and draining, a shut-off valve, tank connections, Pre and Post filters, and housings.

Unlike other whole house filters that require messy, complicated replacement tanks, Aquasana Rhinos are intelligently engineered for quick, easy tank replacements that last for 1,000,000 gallons or up to 10 years. Use only genuine Aquasana replacements with your Aquasana system. Untested replacements are not certified for performance capacity or contaminant removal. This system will NOT reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS).

It’s worth it.Don’t let the sticker shock persuade you. Buy this system right now. I never knew how water could actually feel until now. Even putting my hand under a faucet feels different, and by different I mean good! I found myself rinsing off more in the shower because it felt like I still had soap on me! Buy it, buy it, buy it..

Quality of water is excellent and great priceWe immediately noticed the difference in the quality of the water. The water taste a lot better than city water. No more after taste and water is so soft. Fast delivery. Instruction manual is very clear and easy to understand. However it will need a lot of time to get it installed depending on how it will be setup. But it is very easy to put them all together.

Great System, but not without faultInstall is pretty straight forward. My particular install was a pain, but that is because the builder of my house didn’t install the plumbing in a manner that made for easy splice in installation. Fittings provided are fine – they are schedule 80 PVC, which is what I ended up using for my entire system anyway.

I noticed only about 1-2 psi pressure drop across the system after I installed my gauges and brought the system up to pressure. Noticeable difference in the water for me almost immediately. Will take some time to really get the full benefits as any buildup in the pipes and fixtures will take time to dissolve out through use. Calcium deposits on my fixtures has been reduced already, so the system is doing what it is designed to do without a doubt.

    2 issues I came across:

    1. On the Rhino and Descaling unit themselves, the intake and outlet ports are 1″ NTP but have a 1″ to 3/4″ NTP reducing bushing. One of those bushings ended up getting stripped during my install. Don’t understand why the bushing is there – should have just made it a 3/4″ NTP tap in the housing itself and eliminated a leak point and additional fitting.

    2. The support brackets for the filters are poorly designed, it’s obvious the designers and approvers have never actually put one of their systems together because the length of the brackets means you have to do additional offsets to bolt to a wall or install some gussets on the wall to screw the support brackets too. Just not well thought out at all by Aquasana in that regard, so this weekend I get to fabricate some extensions to bolt the supplied brackets to so that my filter housings are supported correctly.

My aqua sane reviewBought the whole hose system with ‘softener’, installed in house we just purchased. Water is now very drinkable- no longer do I have to wait for the cloudiness to disappear. Can actually drink the water right from the tap- so that’s fantastic. ‘Softener’ seems to be working OK. My problem Is when it’s time to change the pre-filter! Shutoff valves per the diagram allow the water to flow out of the tanks when replacing the filter. So I need a special pan to put under the pre-filter to catch the water. And if I take too long, the pan fills up and I now have water all over the floor. Shutoff valves should be installed on either side of the prefilter so as to isolate it.

Good water quality/installation design needs workThe quality of the water is great. The company called to confirm my order to ensure it was the right product for my installation before shipment. I appreciate this attention to detail.
The brackets for the pre and post filters don’t reach the wall of hooked in series with the large rhino filter and conditioner. While the design of the filter housings has improved, there is still work to do.

  7. Mixed Results

Love the filter, disappointed with the “softener”I bought the whole house filter/softener combo and had it installed by a plumber. I believe it took him about 4 hours. Came home and it looked great. Noticed the difference almost immediately. The water no longer smelled of chlorine and I could drink the water from ANY faucet. Wonderful! No more showers being nearly choked by the smell of chlorine, and my skin was definitely less dry. Our city water is really harsh.

After a bit though, we noticed the dishes were not getting clean in the dishwasher and there was a terrible white film on all of them. I had to rewash everything. I bought Lemi-Shine in the hopes that it would help (I was already using Jet Dry). It helped with the film, but the dishes were still not clean and are almost gritty. The toilets are also a mess. They have a horrible ring and just never look clean any more. The “softener” part of this set up was a waste, in my opinion. We’re going to have the old salt softener installed in line with the filter (hopefully before the filter) because we just can’t live with the quality of water as it is, at least as far as cleaning the dishes and toilets. The water is just to hard.

tl/dr – filter is 100% worth it, skip the softener.

Fair quality. Flow rate unacceptableScale reduction was noticable. Flow rate is very bad after using it for 2 years. Filters have been replaced on time. Now the flow rate is almost 3 GPM. When someone is showering and another faucet is turned on flow rate goes less than half. And here im CA we have 1.8 gpm shower head. Very unsatisfied with the minimal flow rate.

  9. Angry Granny

Very disappointedI’ve had a salt-type water softener for over 40 years….thought it was time to invest in a salt-free system. I spent some good money on this unit and now have hard water.
Soap does not lather up. I have to shampoo twice. The tap water does not taste good.
Every time I turn on a faucet, I get angry.
I am sorry that I got this system…now I have hard water and am out some $$. I wish I had just gotten a new “old-style” water softener…it would have been cheaper and I would have nice, soft water.

  10. Tricked in to buying

Hate this companyEvery time I talk to them I get a different story. The brackets for pre and post filters are too small. I had to make my own brackets. After I bought the system they said it couldn’t be installed outdoors. Instructions suck.
