This is gonna be great for powering my whole homeI purchased a 6500 unit after hurricane Ibella. I was pleased with the performance. I have now bought the 18000 unit for powering my whole home in case of another disaster comes my way.

hard to moveI give this 17500E a 5 star rating. The only con I have is the portability. I have to move the gen. around. I mounted a heavy duty caster with brake the second day I owned it , this totally changed the portability, I can move it around with one hand. Also I believe the handle needs to be adjustable so you don’t have to do a shoulder lift to get it rolling.

big & beautiful brutetook about 6 weeks to deliver but it arrived this past Friday on a wooden pallet. the parts were nicely boxed separately and within an hour the wheels and handle were installed and oil filled. Pulled the choke and it started on the second try. i haven’t connected to the house but my initial impression is if it runs as well as it’s put together and shipped then i will be very happy with this purchase. Definitely pay the extra for drop gate shipping to your house but don’t be intimidated by the weight; assembly is an easy one man job. I did buy 3rd party collapsible handles and a trickle charger but everything else is complete and fully accessible (oil dip stick, filter & drain line, air filter, battery, etc). even included extra spark plugs, air and oil filters leaving no excuse to not properly maintain.

Generac 17500 is great but owner’s manual poorly writtenThe good: Powerful generator provides enough amperage for entire 2300 sq ft house including a/c and 2 electric waters heaters.

The bad: Owner’s manual – parts list, item descriptions and assembly descriptions do not match what comes out of the parts bag. C’mon Generac – you can do better!

Overall: I am pleased with the generator. It is a fine piece of engineering. I also like the relocation of the 50amp outlet from underneath back up onto the front panel where it was on my old 15kw – nicely done!

High Quality GeneratorVery impressed with the generator when it arrived. Was even more impressed when I unpacked, assembled, and fired it up. Runs like a charm. I will meet my needs 100% with ease. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t change a thing. 🙂

This product works great! My company purchased this generator at the recommendation of our electrician. We have a 20,000 sq ft facility (5k office, 15k warehouse). We looked into a 45-60kw standby generator but felt the cost was too high. We decided to try this unit with a manual transfer switch for our facility. One week after installation we lost power for 2 business days. This generator ran 2 HVAC office units, 6 modine gas heaters, 25 personal computers, 3 computer servers and related hardware, office telephone, fridge, half of the office and warehouse lights and more. If we could have hooked up the transfer switch to more of the breakers I think this unit would have powered almost the entire facility. It started and ran without skipping a beat. We spent a fraction of the price quoted for a built in standby unit. We would recommend this setup to any small business.

Awesome generator. It’s super easy to use.Love this generator. It supplies all the power I need to run essential circuits in my house, and then some. I love the push button start and the start and stopping instructions printed on top of the machine. Cooler yet is the fuel saving auto idle switch and all of the receptacle options. This thing does everything. Finally, while it’s a heavy generator, the wheel kit and large handle bar make it easy to move around.

Lets see how this is handled…Bottom of box and pallet was taped to pallet. I signed off, delivery driver drove off. 3 hours later, at 6:30 pm I took off the tape to see that somewhere in the process the tape was used to cover up a number of big holes and the powder coated frame was scraped up in 5 places. The battery tray flange was bent. Forklift damage I assume. I’m asking retailer to contact Generac and get me touch up paint to avoid rust… and a return…. I’m in the process of breaking it in. Lets see how Generac handles this, and I’ll report back. Somebody tried to cover up a mistake, and it does not reflect well on the brand.

I cant give a review since I have not been able to check the equipment.Out of failure. As soon as I pour gas into the gas tank it start to run out onto the battery, the leak is next to the shut off valve. I immediately customer service @ 888 436 3722 to report the issue the gas tank was leaking above the battery. rep wanted to know if the tank was crack I told her I did not know. The rep then activate the extended warranty then give me two Authorized Generac Service Dealers. I call the service dealer who instructed me to contact the Merchant i purchased the Generator from, since it is a out of box failure. Photo and video attached.

GP15000E Leaks Fuel From Between Fuel Vent and TankTwo days after receiving my GP15000E I filled fuel tank to just below the fuel fill neck (instructions show to fill 1/2″ below inside top of tank). I had my generator sitting on my driveway (slightly un-level surface. I started the generator and noticed a lot of gas leaking from between the fuel vapor return valve and top of gas tank (the gas was running down onto the hot exhaust and engine). I quickly hit the shut down button and feel extremely lucky I did not have a fire and explosion. I notice that the fuel vapor valve and tank do not have a good seal to prevent fuel leakage. I have contacted Generac for service.
